Dr. Breeden graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baylor University in Waco, TX in 1982. She then attended the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine, graduating in 1986. After completing her pediatric residence at the University of Florida in Jacksonville in 1989, the Breedens moved to Athens, TN. She has been providing pediatric care for the children of Athens and the surrounding communities since 1989. In 1995 she and her husband Omer established Covenant Pediatrics, a practice dedicated to the care and nurture of all children.

Dr. Matias graduated Cum Laude from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA in 1991. She received her medical degree from University of California, Davis School of Medicine in 1995. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Northern California in 1998. She also completed a clinical fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Northern California in 1999. After her pediatric training, Dr. Matias practiced as a pediatric and neonatal hospitalist at multiple community hospitals in Northern California for 14 years. In 2013, Dr. Matias and her family moved to Athens, TN. She has been providing pediatric care for children in the Athens community since 2013.

Personal: Dr. Matias and her husband, Michael, live in Athens. They have one daughter, two dogs and two guinea pigs. They are actively involved in the arts and love the outdoors.
Graduating from University of Louisville School of Medicine, followed by three year residency training at Kansas University Medical Center, Kim Rucker M.D. joined Covenant Pediatrics in 2016 bringing over 20 years of experience in Pediatrics.
Dr. Ratsimbason graduated Cum Laude from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI in 2004. She received her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA in 2009. She completed her pediatric residency at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in 2012. After practicing as a pediatric hospitalist at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD for 2 years, she enjoyed providing outpatient care, level II nursery care, and inpatient care for children in Great Bend, KS and the surrounding communities for more than 8 years. She is excited to join Covenant Pediatrics and serve the community in Athens in the summer of 2023. She has special interests in preventive medicine, hospital medicine, medical education, whole-person care, and trauma informed care. She speaks four languages including Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, listening to a wide variety of music, trying various international foods, outdoor activities, and fitness classes, but her favorite activity is having endless conversations with her three children.

Nurse Practitioner
Beth graduated from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN in May 2009 with a Masters degree in nursing. She worked as an RN at Memorial Hospital for 6 years prior to obtaining her Master's degree in nursing. For three of those years she was a staff charge nurse. Beth also worked as a clinical instructor for Southern Adventist University in 2005-2006. Beth is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the National Nursing Honor Society and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. After training with Dr. Breeden in pediatrics, Beth joined Covenant Pediatrics in 2009.

Regena graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Wesleyan College with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2011, followed by her Master's degree in Nursing from Southern Adventist University in 2015. She worked 4 years at Starr Regional Medical Center in their Women's and Children's Services unit, where she served as charge nurse. Born and raised locally, Regena is passionate about providing care for the children of this region. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Regena and her husband reside in Madisonville with their son and daughter. Regena is also an avid equestrian.
